About

My woodworking career began like many others. It started with small projects around the house — fixing things, building shelves, whatever needed doing. I loved it so much that I eventually quit my job in aerospace and went to fine woodworking school at The Furniture Institute of Massachusetts for three full years studying under one of the masters of period furniture, Phillip C. Lowe.

That’s where everything really came together for me. I learned traditional techniques and how to build furniture the right way, that will last for generations. What appeals to me about the craft is the entire process from design, wood selection, joinery and finish requires full use of both hands and mind.

I work alone in my shop outside Redding California, building everything by hand from the finest materials. No shortcuts, no compromises. What matters most to me when I make something is that it feels special. I want every piece to be something the owner is proud of — a dining table, a headboard, a console, whatever it is — that still feels nice every time they walk by it or use it, even years from now.
