The Process

Creating a custom piece of furniture is a personal and collaborative experience. I work closely with each client so the final result feels thoughtful, well-made, and right for your space. Here’s how we typically move from the first conversation to delivery.

Step 1: Initial Conversation We start with a simple email, phone call, or message. You share what you’re looking for — whether it’s inspired by something in the gallery or a new idea. I’ll ask a few questions about size, wood preference, timeline, and how the piece will be used.

Step 2: Discovery & Refinement Once I understand your needs, I’ll put together some initial thoughts, sketches, or options. This is where we refine the design together. I’ll also give you a clear sense of timeline and investment based on what we’re discussing.

Step 3: Proposal & Deposit When the design feels right, I’ll send a detailed proposal with specifications, timeline, and pricing. A 50% deposit secures your spot in the schedule and allows me to begin material selection.

Step 4: Material Selection I personally select the wood for your piece, paying close attention to grain, figure, and color. I’ll share photos of the actual lumber so you can see what’s going into your furniture before we begin building.

Step 5: Building Your piece is made start to finish in my shop. I work alone, so every joint, curve, and detail receives careful attention. I’ll send progress photos at key stages so you can follow along.

Step 6: Delivery & Setup When your piece is complete, I’ll coordinate delivery. Most pieces are delivered and set up in your home by me or a trusted partner. I’ll also go over care instructions so your furniture stays beautiful for years to come. Pieces can be shipped nationwide with white glove delivery.

Step 7: Enjoyment & Support Every piece comes with a lifetime craftsmanship warranty. If anything ever needs attention, I’m here to help.
